Your guide
Your guide for the day is a fun, activity-based Trail guidebook containing directions, maps, colour in pages, games and fun things to see and do at each stop. The book is yours to keep and you'll receive one per child.

You'll learn interesting facts about the area, including its history, native plants and animals and Aboriginal language and stories from the Taungurung people - the Traditional Owners of the land upon which Cheeky Fox Retreat lies.

The Trail
Following the Trail guidebook, you'll self-drive to the first stop on the Trail, which is a family friendly walk in the Kinglake National Park. Here you'll learn about post fire regrowth, habitat trees, types of ferns and water sources.
After enjoying a leisurely bushwalk, the Trail will take you to a magical playground in the Kinglake township called Bollygum Park, based on the children's book by Australian author and wildlife artist Garry Fleming.

The last stop is Frank Thomson Reserve, with spectacular views of Melbourne's skyline and is also the location of the Kinglake Bushfire Memorial.
Accessible for All
The Trail, including the bush walk, is accessible for people with mobility limitations via the use of a TrailRider All-Terrain Wheelchair, that was kindly donated to the Kinglake community by the local Rotary club. We are working with Parks Victoria to offer this as a service for The Cheeky Fox Trail, so that we can welcome all family members to enjoy the Trail experience.
